Bakkaflöt

River rafting in East Glacier river (Austari Jökulsá) is a unique experience that can be recommended without hesitation for anyone who dares and wants to step a little outside the comfort zone! This is a powerful river and perhaps not for everyone but it’s a great trip and something you will never forget. The guides have everything under control, know what they are doing and all the facilities at Bakkaflöt are exemplary. I want to go again!

I have done many rafting trips around the world and I would rate it as my best experience because of 1) the guides are exceptional and very friendly 2) the river and scenery are stunning 3) we had a lot of fun and it was very adventurous 4) above all it was very safe

We, a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 children age 11, 13,15) did the west glacial river rafting tour in July. As it is class 2/3, it is not the most adrenaline pumping rafting tour, but for my kids it was a first time, and a highlight of our Iceland trip.
Next to rafting, we had a 3m rock-jump into the river, some river floating and also hot-spring hot chocolate.
The hot tub after the trip was refreshing.
